LOS ANGELES — President Donald Trump has made gains among Latino voters in his past elections, according to AP news data. One of the reasons the president had gained so much support among Latinos was over the economy. However, polls now show a drop in confidence among this group.
As the President approaches his first 100 days into office this term, several national polls show Latinos have a lower approval rating than most general polls.
The non-partisan group UnidosUS found the biggest issue concerning Latino voters is the economy.
Although the polling group has been previously criticized for higher-than-average Spanish-speaking respondents, this year they did bring down that percentage closer to the standard set by prominent polling organizations.
