SPENCER, Mass. — Nothing says fall is on its way quite like the Spencer Fair, which kicked off festivities Friday.

People have been visiting the Labor Day weekend staple for more than 130 years. There's seemingly something for everyone, from the oh-so-popular demolition derby and plenty of food to ox and horse pulls, cattle, rabbit and poultry shows, hall exhibits and outdoor entertainment.

"It's a staple in our Labor Day weekend. We come every year, we make sure to do the rides and we love the demolition derby," said attendee Kristi Bliss.

"It's great, it's like one of the best fairs I ever been to," said one another visitor.

The grounds will play host to a number of musical performances throughout its four-day span.

And for you fair lovers, the Big E is now less than two weeks away. It opens Sept. 13.
