President Donald Trump is stepping up efforts to put a stop to climate change initiatives.
Last week, the U.S. Department of Justice announced lawsuits against four states.
Two states — Hawaii and Michigan — are in the process of suing fossil fuel companies for climate damages.
While the other two states — New York and Vermont — have passed legislation that would force fossil fuel companies to pay for climate-related costs.
This all comes as Trump has been active in blocking other climate change efforts in New York, such as the building of wind farms off the coast of the city.
But Trump has supported a resurgence in the production of domestic fossil fuels, even declaring a national energy emergency earlier this year to do so.
