In Albany, state legislative leaders have been busy finalizing the $254 billion deal, while Gov. Kathy Hochul was on Long Island touting more of some of the wins she secured.

The budget includes reforms to discovery law, rules to make it easier to involuntarily commit an individual who has severe mental illness and a ban on cellphone during school hours.

This year’s state budget is the latest budget deal since 2010.

State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Monday to discuss more.

"We're at the final touches," she said. "I think we'll be ale to beng printing bills, if not later this evening, certainly by tomorrow. So, we'll begin the process, as you say."
