Mayor Eric Adams met with President-elect Donald Trump’s "border czar" Tom Homan Thursday.

He was tight-lipped on the details of what he spoke with Homan about, but he did gather reporters after the meeting to talk about his priorities, including going after immigrants who commit violent crimes.

Public Advocate Jumaane Williams joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Thursday to talk more about the mayor’s meeting and how the city should prepare for the incoming Trump administration.

“When you come to a problem thinking about how to fix it with humanity, love and unity, it looks a lot different than when you come [to] it through visions of hate, division, and disunity,” Williams said. “It seems that the latter part is the direction that the mayor has come from.”

Williams also sent a letter to President Joe Biden asking for specific action in the closing weeks of Biden’s administration, including extending Temporary Protected Status for migrants from eligible countries and expediting the processing of DACA recipients.
