CERRITOS — The St. John Bosco Braves are the CIF Southern Section Divison 1 champions after defeating the then No. 1 ranked Mater Dei Monarchs, 39-34. 

It was a turnaround few saw coming early on, as the Braves trailed the Monarchs by 16 points heading into the second half. But led by their senior quarterback, DJ Uiagalelei who threw for 444 yards and five touchdowns, the Braves rallied back to take home the CIF Championship. 

Spectrum News 1 was on hand at the title game to break down the comeback win and preview Bosco's State Championship journey. 

The Braves will be back at Cerritos College on December 14 to face off against De La Salle in the Open Division State Final. That game will be broadcast live on Spectrum News 1.
