The overall weather pattern has significantly shifted over the past few weeks. After months of unrelenting heat, South Central Texas temperatures have trended closer to average with the end of October.
We’ve seen a parade of cold fronts with cool surges and rainfall every 3 to 5 days. Each successive front brings colder temperatures initially and milder rebounds afterwards. November starts with average highs in the upper 70s and ends with highs in the upper 60s.

The historical first freeze for the San Antonio area comes at the end of the month, typically by November 30th, but freezing temperatures have been observed as early as Halloween (1993, 1917).
The most noticeable change is when Daylight Saving Time ends and Central Standard Time resumes. This occurs at 2 AM on Sunday, November 3. Sunrise goes from about 7:45 to 6:45 AM and sunset from 6:50 to 5:50 PM.
