-- What to Expect Today --
Lightning, thunder, and heavy rain will make it a slippery and potentially dangerous commute out there. We're expecting the rain to continue off-and-on for a couple of days.
The forecasted rain chance for later today is 70 percent, with highs in the low 90s.
Chief Meteorologist Burton Fitzsimmons said a weak frontal boundary eased into the region late yesterday and has stalled out.
Thanks to a rich supply of Gulf moisture, we expect more showers and storms to fire up near this boundary and, if nothing else, keep our skies fairly gray here to start out the week.
Temperatures, meanwhile, will likely hold well below the normal 98 for several days with today's temps predicted to barely make it above 90 at the warmest.
When thunder roars, head indoors. There's no safe place to be outside during a thunderstorm.
