This week marks 60 years since Mayor Robert Wagner signed the city’s first landmark preservation bill.
The bill created a new commission to designate and protect architecturally, historically, and culturally significant buildings.
The agency is hosting forums and events throughout the next year to celebrate.
Sarah Carroll, Landmarks Preservation commissioner, and Thomas Krizmanic, chair of the New York Landmarks Preservation Foundation, joined “The Rush Hour” on Wednesday to discuss the significance of the bill.
