Cakes from a Bronx bakery are center stage in Bad Bunny’s latest music video, “NUEVAYoL.”
The pink, quinceañera-inspired, multi-tiered sponge cakes are from Valencia Bakery in the Bronx.
The bakery owner told NY1 that he still can’t believe it.
“Until now, I didn’t believe it still. It’s been a very big hit,” Raul Valera, owner of Valencia Bakery, said. “Benito is Puerto Rican. Who made [Valencia Bakery famous] is the community of Puerto Ricans. So I think that’s the connection of it.”
When they first put the order together for a client in February, they had no idea it was for Bad Bunny until they delivered them to CUNY’s Bronx Community College for the music video.
Fans can even try the cake for themselves. The bakery is selling cakes named after the singer — “Benito cake.”
Valencia Bakery has locations in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Manhattan.
