TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may be without a key player to start the 2025 season.
The team announced Wednesday that left tackle Tristan Wirfs will likely be placed on the "physically unable to perform" (PUP) list and is expected to miss training camp and the preseason.
The All-Pro recently underwent surgery on his right knee, according to The Associated Press.
Wirfs made history last season, becoming the first offensive lineman to earn First-team All-Pro honors at both tackle positions during a career.
He has made four All-Pro teams and won a Super Bowl ring with the Bucs his rookie season in 2020.
The Bucs open the 2025 regular season with two road games (Atlanta Falcons and Houston Texans).
It's not known when Wirfs will make his season debut.
