OAK CREEK, Wis. — Lillian Asala, the 13-year-old Oak Creek teen who had been missing since Saturday, March 1, has been found safe, according to Oak Creek Police.
The police department released limited details on the case, but confirmed that there is no active threat to the community.
On Sunday, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office confirmed the mother of Lillian Asala was booked in the county jail on the felony charge of "Interfering With Child Custody." The District Attorney hasn't filed a criminal complaint.
Police added that this remains an active investigation and they will update the community when they have more information to share.
Investigators had said Lillian Asala was last seen at the Oak Creek Skate Park off Drexel Avenue on Saturday, March 1. According to police, there was no indication or evidence of foul play.
