The New York Housing Conference released its annual housing tracker report, which details how much affordable housing is being built throughout the five boroughs and where.

The report found the city produced more than 27,000 units of affordable housing last year, which is 10% more than the average over the previous five years.

Driving that growth are some City Council districts in the Bronx. Trailing behind are neighborhoods in Manhattan and Staten Island.

The report says the "City of Yes" zoning amendments passed last year along with other policy changes could spur more housing production in the years ahead.

Rachel Fee, the executive director of the New York Housing Conference, and Matthew Murphy, the executive director of the NYU Furman Center, joined NY1's Bobby Cuza on “Inside City Hall” Wednesday to talk more about housing production in the city in general.

“Some neighborhoods are saying yes to housing and some are saying no, still blocking it,” Fee said. “That’s been contributing to our housing crisis in New York City.”
