CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. -- Close to 200 people who work for area Sears will lose their jobs in the coming months.
More than 75 employees at Sears at the Walden Galleria in Cheektowaga and 105 employees at its Boulevard Mall location will be out of jobs in mid-April.
That's according to the New York State Department of Labor.
A spokesperson says Sears is closing stores that are "unprofitable" as executives evaluate store space and productivity.
The stores at the McKinley, Eastern Hills and Summit Park Malls will stay open.
