TEXAS — Country singer Pat Green shared he was personally affected by the devastating floods that have torn communities in Central Texas apart.
Green said his family suffered a “heartbreaking and deeply personal loss” in a Facebook post. The singer’s wife, Kori Green, confirmed his younger brother, John, and his brother’s wife, Julia, and their two children were swept away in the historic Texas floods that have killed over 100 people.
“We are grieving alongside countless Texans whose lives have been upended by this tragedy,” he wrote on post on Monday. “Right now, we kindly ask for privacy and space as we mourn, support each other, and begin to process what comes next for our family.”
Green postponed a show that was scheduled over the weekend due to the flooding.
“Due to the unforeseen weather and tragedy around the Texas Hill Country, it has been decided to postpone tomorrow night’s show,” Green wrote in a post on Facebook. The new show was postponed to Aug. 16.
Green has received an outpouring from fans and Texans in the comments of his post.
As of Wednesday, more than 160 people are still missing days after deadly floodwaters killed over 100 people over the holiday weekend.
