NYC Ferry riders will see fares go up beginning Monday, when the cost of a single-trip ticket increases from $4 to $4.50, officials said.
Frequent ferry riders will still be able to purchase a 10-trip pack, with the price going from $27.50 to $29, bringing the per-trip cost to $2.90, which aligns ferry fares with subway and bus rates.
The New York City Economic Development Corporation first announced the price hikes in July.
The NYC Ferry Discount Program, which mirrors the city’s Fair Fares initiative, will continue to offer rides at $1.45 for seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income individuals.
Additionally, high school students citywide can benefit from reduced fares for weekday school travel. Applications for this program opened Aug. 1 on the New York City Student Account portal.
Children under 44 inches tall can still ride for free when accompanied by an adult.
Tickets can be purchased via the NYC Ferry app or at ticket vending machines at ferry landings. All tickets will remain valid for 90 days and include a free transfer to another route within 120 minutes of activation.
