If you lived it, you remember it.
Wednesday, March 3 marks 30 years since the 1991 ice storm that crippled the region.
People woke up to a thick layer of ice covering just about everything. The weight of it brought down trees and powerlines all over the area. Branches could be heard snapping throughout the morning.
The storm knocked out power to more than 200,000 homes. Some didn't get power back for two weeks.
The governor at the time, Mario Cuomo, declared a state of emergency in 19 counties.
