The Saratoga Springs city council unanimously approved new regulations for short-term rentals.
During Tuesday night's meeting, the proposal passed 5-0.
The new regulations include no limits on the number of licenses issued in the first year; the property contact distance is now 50 miles instead of 25 miles; and licenses are not transferable should the short-term rental property be sold or gifted to, or acquired by, a different owner.
City leaders say the new regulations are necessary to protect housing stock and neighborhoods. However, property owners who rent short-term claim they are being unfairly targeted.
