TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. — City of Treasure Island officials on Tuesday appointed a temporary city manager.
Charles Van Zant will take on the role formerly held by Chuck Anderson.
By a 4-0 vote (with one commissioner not present), city leaders also decided to offer Van Zant the permanent position if he "meets their performance standards."
Most recently, Van Zant served as the City Manager of Keystone Heights in Clay County.
In an announcement on X, which is posted in full below, the city said Van Sant "has experience in leading hurricane relief efforts and implementing risk mitigation strategies before storms."
Anderson was dismissed from the post less than a year after taking it.
