GREENVILLE, S.C. - The global online retailer, Amazon, continues to grow their footprint in the Carolinas.
This week it was announced that the company is opening a new facility in Greenville County.
The decision to open the facility comes after the county council voted to give Amazon a tax break. The council voted 9-3 in favor.
As a result of this, Amazon is expected to invest $50 million and create 200 new jobs that will directly benefit the Upstate.
The new facility will be located in the Fountain Inn area and is expected to help with the delivery and storage of larger items sold by the commercial giant.
According to the new agreement, the tax break will remain in effect for the next 10 years.
