PRINCETON, Mass. - Some of the best barbecue chefs in the region were at Wachusett Mountain on Sunday for the annual BBQFest.

More than a dozen food trucks and tents were set up near the base lodge, with ribs, pulled pork, BBQ Mac and cheese and other dishes being served up to eager visitors.

Some restaurants, like Firefly’s BBQ of Marlborough, have won national competitions and take pride in making authentic, delicious food.

“We do authentic, world-champion barbecue,” said Steve Uliss, owner of Firefly’s BBQ. “Everything is made from scratch, we use hickory cherry and applewood, and we dry rub and smoke all of our meats.”

Attendees also enjoyed a ride on the summit chairlift at Wachusett Mountain.

Other food trucks included Berry Sweet, Richie’s Slush and Food, Travelin’ Bones, Big T’s BBQ, Mike’s Moonwalk Ultimate Grille, Rustic Fusion, Travelin’ Pizza, Totally Nutz, Canterbury Kettle Corn, Pieson’s Pizza, Sugarcane Hut and Twizted Beverages.
