Representing Kentucky's 30th District, State Senator Brandon Smith's favorite thing about his job is listening to and connecting with his constituents. The biggest lesson that he has learned during his time in office is how to be patient to see projects through to the end.

One thing Smith wishes people knew about his job is how much reading is required. In a few words, he would describe his district as "loyal, seasoned, and patriotic."

If Smith could have lunch with any elected official, he would choose Abraham Lincoln.
