Pope Francis has died at 88 years old.
He delivered his final Easter address on Sunday, hours before he died due to a stroke and irreversible heart failure, according to the Vatican.
Francis was the 266th pope and the first Jesuit and Latin American pope, hailing from Argentina.
During his papacy, he made history by expanding the church’s acceptance of same-sex couples and transgender people. He also called for more action to be done to combat climate change and criticized the Trump administration for its policies on deporting migrants and the war in Gaza.
Paul Moses, a contributing writer at the Commonweal Magazine, which fosters discussions centered around faith and public affairs, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Monday to discuss more.
