Reports said the 20-year-old was a Palestinian-American born in Florida. He also owned a business in Tampa.

“I mean, Sayfollah was just a very rare soul,” said his uncle, Hesam Musallet. “He was very loving, caring and just like any other 20-year-old.”

The victim’s uncle said his nephew had plans of making it big in the business world.

“This is Ice Screamin. He started this about a year ago,” Musallet said of his nephew’s ice cream shop.

Musallet said Saif was supposed to return to the U.S. this week.

Musallet’s family is demanding an investigation by the U.S. State Department. CAIR-Florida is also seeking federal action.

“We’re calling on President Trump, the U.S. State Department and the Department of Justice to find those who committed this crime, to arrest them and to prosecute them under U.S. law for the murder of an American citizen,” said Hiba Rahim, deputy executive director for CAIR-Florida

A state department spokesperson confirmed officials were aware of reports on the matter, but they did not specify who was killed. They did offer condolences to the family and told Spectrum News to reach out to the Israeli government for more information. We have reached out and have not heard back.

The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) say it is looking into reports of a death during a confrontation between Palestinians and Israeli civilians in the area.

CAIR disputes there was a clash between the two groups. Musallet joined CAIR in calling for justice.

“We just want justice for an American citizen, born, went to school here. He was just a loving kid,” he said.

The family says they plan to continue running the ice cream business.
